good morning. >> very rare and i wish i was outside on the sky deck, standing outside but roadways are looking okay. we have one accident, that i will talk to you about in a moment coming up but lauren, let's stick with the good news right now. tell us more about the the weather. >> great news in the weather department. i'm wearing a jacket but it is heavy for these mild temperatures this morning. the don't need that winter coat, don't need a that hat today or tomorrow as well, very quiet conditions, just to start you off on a wednesday. storm scan three is showing us, nothing to worry about, not even really a cloud in sight. we like that early on a wednesday morning. lets get through the day. temperatures right now 48 degrees in philadelphia, nice, calm wind. we are at 50 down the shore and extremely mild start in the poconos, at 41 degrees, and yeah, we are going for winter, to spring, maybe even early summer you can call it. our average high is 50 degrees. so it is last weekend it was cool, temperatures in the 40's on saturday, 42 degrees, monday, we got the to 60's.

the volume levels, we are looking good here at the boulevard. ben franklin bridge same story for this those coming from new jersey in the westbound direction, looking nice and quiet. one of my favorite shots right there, absolutely stunning, some construction outside past downingtown, route 30 westbound before route 82 that left lane is block, make note for those in and around that area. just make note it is out there. also, some more construction just a a reminder 95 north bound from ramp from delaware avenue is closed and it will be closed until march 21st. make note. the westbound ramp to richmond street is closed until early may, so for those who take that bridge just make note of that, erika, back over to you. new you this morning a violent crash, with the driver dead in kensington. new video right here shows that car that is what is left of the car just a pile of metal at second and cecil b more. that vehicle was going extremely fast when it slammed in the park vehicle and a house were bursting into flames.

also new this morning going above and beyond the call of duty, when police officers rush in the burning building to save lives in the main line. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joining us now at that scene in lower merion with more on these officers heroic efforts, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, heroic indeed, three victims are now recovering thanks to lower merion police and fire, whose brave actions, saved lives overnight. lets take you now to video here from the scene, lower merion fire and police agencies a arrived to this random road home, to find, heavy flames on the second floor. reports of the fire, came in at the about ten until midnight and upon a arrival, fire crews noted heavy fire upstairs and in at least one of the homes bedrooms. the fire crews were able to bring this fire under control in 20 minutes but priority one was rescues. lower merion's fire chief says that police and fire fighters faced flames and their fears to free those vick times. >> we arrived on location.

we have had fire showing on the second floor, police officers pulled two people out from the door on arrival. fire department went in and found another victim on the second floor. >> reporter: we have three victims total here, one taken to penn presbyterian with reports of the smoke inhalation, two others taken to lankenau. we also have heard there are as many as eight occupants in this home at the time or near the time of this fire but luckily, there are only injuries that are those three victims, in injuries to those men and women who went into rescue those three victims, erika, back over to you. >> incredible effort, justin, thanks very much. right now a spectacular fire and explosion in delaware county, check out the this scene here. more than 100 fire fighters battled for hours to bring that fire under control. the fire broke out late last night at an auto body shop on ellis avenue in colwyn boro. fire fighters believe it started outside and then work its way inside the building causing several explosions.

fortunately no one was injured. the cause of the fire is under investigation. right now it is 5:05. bernie sanders debates hillary clinton tonight after a surprise victory in michigan. it was close but he managed to defeat clinton in a state where the polls had expected the former secretary of state the to win by double digits. on the republican side, michigan is one of the three states where voters pick donald trump, the other two are mississippi and hawaii. ted cruz won in idaho. craig boswell looks at numbers and what they mean in the race for the white house. >> reporter: bernie sanders regained momentum last night picking up a big win in michigan's primary contest over rival hillary clinton. >> i just want to take this opportunity to thank the people of michigan who kind of repudiated polls that had us 20, 25 points down a few days ago. >> reporter: clinton who scored a few days victory in mississippi. >> running for president, shouldn't be about delivering

"eyewitness news" for latest developments from the campaign trail, we're always on line at cbs philly.com. back here in our area police are investigating several homicide, spanning several hours in philadelphia. white chalk marks bullet casings at the the scene as a man was shot several times in strawberry mansion. that happened around 8:30 on the the 2400 block of north hollywood street. police say that the three two-year old victim was sitting with a group on the steps, when two men walk up and opened fire. so far there have been no arrests. funeral arrangements are still being finalized for a new jersey state trooper killed in the crash this week. investigators say trooper sean cullen was struck by a vehicle will while managing the scene of the accident on i295 in deptford, monday night. he later died at cooper medical center surrounded by family. cullen was a trooper for almost two years, he followed in the footsteps of his older brother who is a detective. >> the outpouring of the

public support, the outpouring of law enforcement support, it is almost beyond belief. >> investigators say so far no charges have have been filed against would the man was driving that vehicle that hit trooper cullen. a close call for a narcotic officer in doylestown bucks county. he was shocked, yesterday while trying to get some evidence off that roof of the septa train. police tell us that the officer was preparing to arrest a drug suspect when that suspect threw a bag of drugs on to the roof of the train. when the officer went to grab the drugs he touched a live wire and then was shocked. we're told his injuries are not life threatening. a public viewing for nancy reagan begins today at ronald reagan presidential library in california. mourners can pay their respects until tomorrow afternoon. the funeral is set for friday. then the former first lady will be buried next to her husband on the library grounds. mrs. reagan who died sunday at the age of 94, planned the services down to the smallest

mart teenes herrera pointed a gun at a head in the traffic light. did he not realize a sheriff's deputy was sitting right behind them. when driver didn't go through the green light the deputy turned on his lights. martinez herrera tried to runaway but he was quickly caught. a california highway patrolman rescued children trapped in the burning car and then all this is caught on video too. i want to show you officer pulling those children age one and two from the burning car. the officer says he was driving along the highway when he noticed the car in front of him began to smoke. he instruct him to pull off at the next exit. >> my first thought was just to get everybody out of the car as quick as we can in case the car would just fully engulf into flames. i reached through and unlock them, try to get the doors open to get them unbuckled out of the car seats and into their car. >> well done. >> the driver side door was jammed, the driver had to climb out passenger side door. newspaper photographer who also happened to be behind the

begins, in 11 days, 25 days until our average high temperature climbs up to 60 degrees. and then just 32 days away from the phillies home opener. ahh, yes, baseball, that definitely brings in spring-like feelings. temperatures right now, we're very mild to start as far as averages are concerned. 48 degrees in philadelphia 50 in a ac. we are chillier in the lehigh valley. 37 degrees. mild start in mount pocono at 41 right now. wind are generally calm to light but notice these streamlines, these wind pulling out of the south, driving that warmth, in and today temperatures are going to climb even warmer then that 75 degrees we had yesterday. seventy-nine, that will be record smashing high temperature, sunshine around for today, our average high temperature is 50 degrees. no where near that. even overnight tonight, our low will be above our average high temperature, mostly clear, southeasterly win at five to 10 miles per hour. we have a chance of rain in the forecast but not the for

today. high pressure remains in control all throughout the day keeping sunshine around, in problems as we are heading home on your commute this evening. as we look ahead toward tomorrow still mainly dry conditions a few more clouds but then as an area have low pressure moves in drags a cold front through heading in to late tomorrow night, it could bring us a few showers, fairly light in intensity and then quickly clearing out, we could see clearing skies through the day on friday with sunshine returning as high pressure settles in. very quickly, once again, and will give us sunny start to the weekend but cloud do increase as we head throughout our the saturday but temperatures, still very mild on the back side of the cold front. we will drop down significantly from 80 but we are still at 68 degrees, on friday, and temperatures as we head into the upcoming weekend, meisha, still in the middle 60's. our coolest high temperature in the next seven daises 60 degrees on monday, not too bad. >> wow, lauren, it is crazy, you have to take a double take at that number 80 degrees tomorrow, yes. good morning, everyone. that makes me so happy on this

hump day. we have got some delays here, schuylkill eastbound approaching schuylkill eastbound. pulled off to the shoulder. not causing too many slow downs yet the but it certainly can as we progress through 5:00 o'clock hour. make note it the is there and has been there for quite sometime. hopefully this gets cleared out and won't cause too many slow downs. right now pulled off to the shoulder, not causing too many slow downs right now. blue route southbound near mid county moving in the the southbound direction we are looking good. you can see volume, almost certainly starting to heat up just a little bit, would i say both north and southbound the blue route is what we're seeing right new but that is fairly typical at this time but overall things are looking good on the blue route. ninety-five south at girard, same thing here we are seeing, levels slowly build up as we head in the southbound direction, of course, north bound not looking bad especially around girard but southbound where i'm keeping my eye. all of the levels building pushing their way southbound. give yourself a couple extra minutes, you will need them as we again, push through 5:00 o'clock hour. closure vine street expressway, east and westbound

health officials are trying to figure out exactly what has caused a contagious stomach bug spreading around the campus on lafayette college in easton. almost 50 students got sick starting on friday night. there is no specific treatment but number of cases is starting to go down. path department have of health is working to determine the cause of this out break. meanwhile montgomery county is now confirmed its first case of the zika virus. the county health department tells us that five five-year old would map has been positive after traveling outside the country. that brings the total to six confirmed cases in pennsylvania. there are two cases in new
